July 31, 2008shoes and underwear!
July 31, 2008
Yep folks, it’s that time of year again. All the shoe addicts, buyers, and sellers are gathered in Sin City for the annual WSA Shoe Show. I will be flaunting some rather soccer-mom designs by Brown Shoe. Hey, at least I’ll be comfy. =)
On another note, the girls of superrolemodels.com are getting together for the City of Hope’s Underwear Affair on August 2nd. This fun event raises money for all kinds of cancers below the waist…please make a donation by clicking here. Thanks in advance for your support!
seoul, korea
July 29, 2008Just returned from a very fun 72 hours in Seoul, Korea. The people, friendly. The food, fabulous.
Here’s a brief outline:
Wednesday: Arrive late and find my way to the Skype rent-a-phone station and catch a shuttle to Itaewon. After a 1.5 hour ride, arrive in the city center and meet my friends. Off to bed.
Thursday: Awake refreshed and ready to go. The weather has other ideas, as it is pouring. Have breakfast (Mexican) at Suji’s in Itaewon. Known for it’s American brunch brought to Korea by it’s Korean-American owner via New York. Explore shopping areas, and grab a quick snack at Don Valley Korean Food. We sample grilled octopus, traditional Korean soup, and a Korean pancake filled with spicy seafood. After a quick nap and tour of some lounges, we had a late dinner at JuJu, which is a Korean eatery in a tent on the side of the road. Discover Soju and more kim-chi.

Friday: Breakfast is at Butterfingers, a popular Asian chain that serves stacks of pancakes, waffles, omelets, and anything breakfast-like. Walk down another popular tourist shopping street and visit the underground mall. Have a drink at Top Cloud, the bar on the 33rd floor in downtown Seoul with a view of the whole city that spans for miles and miles. Visit a jazz club and the club circle, as well as an authentic Korean BBQ restaurant.
Saturday: Miss my early morning flight and suffer the recricusions of mixing vodka, soju, and tequila. Try to watch “Love Guru” and eat pizza.
Sunday: 7AM wake up to head back to the airport and back to America.

european highlights
July 17, 2008Where exactly did July go? It’s been an amazing month, and I have been all over the world…literally! Here are some of the highlights:
***Having an authentic ham and cheese crepe on the Champs Elysees at 1am with a handful of special people that just happened to be in Paris at the same time, then hanging out at an underground club acting silly.

***Seeing cool landmarks like The Eiffel Tower, The Louve, The Notre Dame Cathedral, The Siene River and The Arc de Triumph.

***Waking up in France, having lunch in Monaco, and going to sleep in Italy.
***Seeing the beautiful countryside of Tuscany, and exploring the old towns of Volterra and Gimignano.

***Having a private tour of the Sassicaia Winery and Vineyard, which is closed to the public. A small, very basic family operation that changed the way of wine production in Italy, this wine has won numerous awards over the years and is known as one of the few “Super Tuscans”.

***Seeing Michaelangelo’s David, Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper, and The Mona Lisa.
***Searching for the perfect thin crust pizza in Italy.

***Partying like a rock star in St. Tropez on the 4th of July and learning the difference between a Magnum(2 bottles), Double Magnum(4 bottles), and Jeroboam(6 bottles).

***Relaxing in the quiet little seaside town of Portofino at the hillside Splendido Hotel, where the view is amazing and the have the best spaghetti I have ever tasted.

***Walking/Hiking 8 miles through Cinque Terre (5 lands), a small group of 5 small fishing villages on the coastline in a National Park.

***Exploring all the nooks and crannies of Venice, Italy and wondering aimlessly through the cobble stone streets. Having drinks at The Gritti Palace, visiting one of the most famous squares in the world ( Piazza San Marco), and shopping in Rodeo-like shops of Chanel and Prada.

***Feeling like a Princess and taking advantage of all the amenities at The Principe Di Savoia in Milan, Italy. The hotel is one of the oldest and most recognized hotels in the city.

completing the circle
July 16, 2008No, I didn’t forget about you. I’ve been exploring the world, working hard to complete the circle. Sometimes this means doing more and blogging less

The Wheel of Fortune is all about big things, luck, change, fortune. Almost always good fortune. You are lucky in all things that you do and happy with the things that come to you. Be careful that success does not go to your head however. Sometimes luck can change.
